Décor For A Balcony

Having a balcony overlooking the sea need not belong in a hotel. It could be a part of your apartment too. If you are looking to make use of the balcony space in a simple and yet, aesthetically pleasing manner, you would select patio furniture. This could be wither in wood or wrought iron.

Depending on the size of the balcony, make your selection in terms of size. You do not want the furniture to take up too much space. All you need is a small table and a couple of chairs. You will need the table to place the drinks or a book you are reading. You might want to sit comfortably while you enjoy the sun or fresh breeze. You will also want to be comfortable while you take in a beautiful view.

Make sure the furniture is not going to be affected by natural elements such as too much sun or rain. You can add an umbrella to ward off the harshness of direct sunlight and accompanying heat. Using an umbrella with a narrow pole will not take up too much space and it will still protect you from the glare.

If you have a mind to do some sunbathing, select an easy chair so that you may recline comfortably.  Instead of a lampshade or side tables, you can have light fixtures on the wall and add an artwork or two that are not overpowering. This would largely be a more utilitarian space than a space you will socialize in.

If the balcony is off your bedroom, it is a more private space for a morning cup of coffee or a late night glass of wine in solitude. Naturally, this can be as personalized as you want.  Any decoration you might like may come from the view outside; be it the beach or the garden.
