Remodeling your Bathrooms

Did you know that the most expensive room in the house to remodel is your kitchen? And the next most expensive room is the bathroom. Now this estimate also includes the costs of labor and equipment. Let’s face it – these are the two rooms that you simply cannot manage to work on even with your very versatile Do It Yourself skills. These are the two rooms that require quite a bit of plumbing and electrical gadgetry. Well more plumbing for the bathrooms and more electrical gadgetry preparation for the kitchen.  Yet we can – if we put our heart and soul to it – remodel a bathroom with minimal expenses.

The first thing you can do to give your bathroom a brand new look is to paint the walls. This is by far the cheapest and oft used method to give that room the all needed transformation.  Seriously it should not cost you more than $30! And here is something you can indulge on – if you have a new idea with regard to wall painting – perhaps stripes or checkered patterns and you are not quite sure how it would look on the walls of your living room, you can try them out in your bathroom.

Now the other inexpensive thing to do is to change the lighting. Remove the outdated lighting there and bathe the bathroom with an all-new-all-bright lighting fixture. If you have cabinets that are weather worn and look drab – give them a new look by giving them a coat of paint. Sand-paper them and give them two fresh new coats of an oil based painting. You can experiment on color accents here give these cabinets a color that contrasts with the bathroom wall color. If your cabinets had door knobs that have rusted – replace them with brand new ones. Well lo and behold! You now have a new transformed and attractive bathroom!
